Ownership Sector and the Gender Wage Gap

Using data of the Chinese Household Income Project surveys (CHIP), this study explores determinants gender wage gap by five kinds ownership sectors from 2002 to 2013 in urban China. A decomposition analysis based on Blinder-Oaxaca model is employed. The results show that difference human capital and discrimination against female workers contribute gap; influence unexplained component including increased each sector 2013. range increase greater for firms public than those private sector; factors differs sector.
